Test of Time
We build our trails to stand the test of time and minimize maintenance needs. However, eventually all built trails and bike facilities will require some level of upkeep. Our maintenance rates are significantly reduced because we understand the importance of building things right the first time around. Rock Solid offers a 1 year warranty on our work.
Resource for Volunteers
Our partners Arkansas Parks and Recreation Foundation (APRF) developed a guide for volunteers to maintain natural surface trails. Many trail systems rely on their local community volunteers for light maintenance tasks. If you're wondering where to start as a volunteer consider reading their document on the best up-to-date practices of trail maintenance.
What we offer
We typically do not offer light maintenance services such as clearing storm blowdown, leaf blowing and raking loose rocks. What we will do is refurbish a trail with machines. This allows us to take aspects of the trail we see that work and don't work and make changes accordingly such as the case of Lake Atalanta.
Case Study
Lake Atalanta
Seeking to improve sustainability and rider experience, the City of Rogers partnered with Rock Solid to upgrade and optimize the existing trail system. The initial phase of this project was to review the existing trail system, to identify segments appropriate for retreading, segments recommended for obliteration and new segments. New segments typically were recommended to meet appropriate trail grades, capture interesting areas of topography or improve the flow/way finding of the network. Rock Solid reviewed over 12 miles of trail, and broke them down into segments (consisting of retread, obliterated and new trail). Upon completion & approval of design, Rock Solid was contracted to execute construction for the entire scope of the updates and optimizations.
