Redhead MTB Park in Chisholm, Minnesota is a great example of repurposing mining lands. Carved out of the walls of an abandoned iron mine pit, Redhead is like nothing you’ve ever ridden. Rock Solid crews got to put their masonary skills to the test at this red-rock mecca. Redhead is a cooperative effort between the Iron Range Off-Road Cyclists (IROC), The City of Chisholm, and The Minnesota Discovery Center. The Funding for the trail system came from the Department of Iron Range Resources which utilizes taxes generated by mining to foster vibrant growth and economic prosperity in northeastern Minnesota. Please check out Iron Range Off-Road Cyclists for more information and maps.
These ladies from the 30West Fitness & Rec bi-weekly women's ride know these trails like the back of their hands. All levels of riders are welcome, so reach out and explore one of the newest trail systems in Northern Minnesota.
